On Friday, February 21st, Accident Lawyer, John Fagan was honored to serve as chairman for the Annual 12-Points Award Dinner for the Black Creek District Boy Scouts of America. At the event, Mr. Fagan was joined by Senator Rob Bradley in presenting the prestigious 12-Point Award to the Honorable Judge William A. Wilkes. The award dinner was held at the Holiday Inn in Orange Park, Florida.
Judge William Wilkes serves on the bench for the 4th Judicial Circuit and has done so for more than 33 years. The award honors his tireless and long lasting commitment to justice and service to the community. As such, he embodies the principles of the Boy Scout’s Oath and Scout Law. Scouting’s 12-Points represent the core values each scout is expected to uphold. They include: trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, friendliness, courteousness, kindness, obedience, cheerfulness, thrift, bravery, cleanliness and reverence. The 12-Point award is given yearly to a member of the community who the Boy Scouts feel is best able to exemplify the characteristics of Scout Law.
Senator Bradley, who hails from Florida’s District 7, delivered the keynote address. The Senator is also Judge Wilkes’s nephew. He gave firsthand accounts of the guidance and examples Judge Wilkes set for him as a young lawyer.
